About

I grew up in Northern New Jersey in a rural lake community playing in dirt, wandering forests and swimming in ponds.  I now reside in a similar pastoral setting, but my creative intentions do not always outwardly mirror either environment.  My current works are heavily influenced by urban disintegration and industrial and sometimes, natural decay.  I shoot and then alter the images and have them reproduced on 40x60 canvases in support of the theme of contradiction (contradiction being one of my favorite things).  The canvas and image merge to become a contradiction in itself reflecting deterioration of structure or fading pattern but featured in a polished, classic medium.

Professionally I have a long-time career in commercial and international insurance, but undaunting curiosity, impulse to find beauty and meaning and love of adventure lead me to “urban explore” and find beauty and meaning in unexpected places.

My two most recent series of images on canvas (HUMAN CONDITION PART I and HUMAN CONDITION PART II) explore interpretations of aspects of the human condition and collective human experience. My intention? - to move the viewer with the beauty of imperfection in humanity through gritty, chaotic and raw images of the seemingly mundane and insignificant for the ultimate purpose of portraying human connection and unity.
